As the school year comes to a close, I want to be sure to tell you how much I've enjoyed working with your children. They have grown leaps and bounds as learners... writing, reading, and thinking like incoming third graders. Thank you so very much for all of your support over the course of the year. I'll miss them!
I want to be sure to encourage you and your child to read together over the summer. Research shows that even a week of not reading is enough for "backslide" to happen... imagine the damage an entire summer without reading can do to those hard earned skills! Be sure to keep your child's skills current by continuing to read for 20 minutes, at least four times per week. Studies have also shown that one of the best ways to encourage fluent reading is to reread books again and again... so break out those old favorites!
Please check out Mrs. Trager's third grade website at http://mrstragers.blogspot.com/2017/06/enjoy-your-summer_8.html for a supply list for next year.
Have a wonderful summer and keep in touch!!!!
