Today was another hot one in our room. We worked on keeping our bodies and our moods calm. This afternoon, as a group, we struggled with our closing activities/dismissal routine. We will be practicing this tomorrow as a small group during the first few minutes of recess, so as not to take more instructional time.
Please review the routine with your children:
1. Sit at table spots
2. Table captains get assignment notebooks and book baggies for their table
3. Everyone colors their square and writes assignment in notebooks
4. Everyone reads while they wait for the mail helper to call their name, and while they are reading I come around with tickets.
5. When their name is called, they get their folder and mail and pack up, putting tickets in their envelopes.
6. Once packed up, they sit on the rug and wait for dismissal. They may talk to friends quietly.
I sent home Scholastic Book Club flyers today. If you'd like to order, please return by Monday the 2nd.
