Friday the 13th!

Hi families,

Today was an up and down kind of day in our room. In theafternoon, we struggled with meeting the expectations for mathworkshop, and we wound up losing our Reading Buddies time.

Our class marble (class dojo point) bucket is not gaining as quicklyas I had hoped it might... once we reach the "fill line" we earn aspecial classroom privilege. Last year, kids picked things like "artsand crafts day" and "movie and pajamas day". I know we can earnmore marbles than we have been... I'm attaching the sign thathangs in our room as a reminder. Please review it with yourkiddos?

In backpacks you will find a "Hopes and Dreams" sheet forhomework. These should be filled out with an adult, and shouldclarify your child's goal for the school year, along with three stepstoward reaching that goal. For example, if your child's goal is tobecome a more fluent reader, their action steps might be to readfor 20 minutes with a grown up every day, to keep a reading log,and to look for books that they are interested in. I'll be collectingthese to hang on the wall in our classroom on Monday.

Monday is BOC... please pack a bag lunch and snack, andremember sturdy outdoor shoes and comfortable, layered clothes.

Thanks for all you do!
