Have you heard about the graphic novels in our classroom?! Kiddos absolutely love them! Dalton Library has a huge selection of them, and this week I checked out a large variety for our room to use.
Graphic novels are a wonderful tool to use at this point in the year. Not only do they help get students more engaged in reading, thereby improving their stamina, but many times they are great examples of small moment stories, which helps us as writers! I've seen so many wonderful word-solving strategies being put to use with these books, along with many smiles and laughs. My rule is that they have to remain in the classroom, as I checked them out with my personal account. Ask your kiddos about their favorites!
PLEASE look for permission slips for the Colonial Theater field trip in backpacks tonight. These need to be signed and returned on Tuesday (no school tomorrow or Monday) for the field trip on Tuesday. I apologize for the short notice... we just found out that we had funding approval today! :) The performance will be Pete the Cat... lots of excitement!
Have a wonderful long weekend!
